Mariah Carey slips on stage during Singapore Concert

Four songs into Mariah Carey's Sunday night set at the Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix, the singer had a wardrobe malfunction.
Nothing went wrong with her outfit, though -- it was Mariah's dancing that went wrong: She slipped in her high heels while striding across the stage and clapping along to her 1992 hit "Make It Happen." A nearby backup dancer quickly rushed to her aid and a smiling Carey made a very quick recovery, telling the crowd, "I did that on purpose."

Her next order of business was to remove the offending footwear. "Someone come out here and take these shoes off," Carey said into her microphone, adding, "Obviously I'm supposed to be barefoot."
When an assistant arrived with a bottle of water, Mariah pointed to her feet and gesticulated repeatedly until her message was clear.
"We love her. She is a darling dear," Carey said of the woman, identifiable as her stylist, Blair. Three dancers helped Carey balance -- and she kept on singing -- while an additional assistant ran out from backstage to help her out of her heels.
Carey is known for beckoning her crew onstage during shows for wardrobe and microphone adjustments. On New Year's Eve in New York last year, she announced, "I need some lipstick real quick and my hair fluffed," and also called in personal assistants to affix her microphone pack and hand her a glass of champagne. "They say I'm a diva so, might as well act like one," she told the crowd at Madison Square Garden.
The singer's predilection for high heels has tripped her up before. She nearly fell down while walking out onstage for a November 2009 appearance on "The Jay Leno Show."

After her show in Singapore last night, Carey rushed out a tweet so fans would know all was well and her good humor was intact. "TY SO much to my fans in Singapore!!!" she tweeted. "Yeah, several hectic moments, (lol!)but I tried to swirl them into festive!.Love+ God Bless."
Fans were extra curious about the fall because of ongoing rumors that Carey is pregnant. Mariah has refused to issue a statement confirming or denying she will be having her first child with husband Nick Cannon. In her only official comment on the matter, Carey said in a statement last month: "I appreciate everyone's well wishes, but I am very superstitious." Referring to her longtime publicist, Carey added: "When the time is right, everyone will know -- even Cindi Berger."

Carey's second Christmas album, "Merry Christmas II You," is due November 2. The disc features four new original songs, including first single "Oh Santa," along with production by Jermaine Dupri and Randy Jackson.

Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler Announced As New American Idol Judges

It's official!

Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler will be joining Randy Jackson at the judges' table when American Idol kicks off season 10 in January.

"I'm looking for the next Michael Jackson," Lopez said before a screaming crowd at the Los Angeles Forum after Ryan Seacrest introduced her. "We're looking for the best American Idol ever."

The announcement was made during a live press conference Wednesday. Seacrest hosted the event, telling the crowd, "We are looking for the next star in music. We usually ask, who will be the next American Idol? We never asked this question, who will be the next judges on American Idol?"

Seacrest then introduced Randy Jackson, who told the crowd, "We found some unbelievable talent and I am calling season 10 the remix, baby!"

Up next, Tyler was introduced as a "rock legend." The Aerosmith frontman said joining the Idol family feels "fabulous."

"[It] feels like the perfect feathered nest," he said. "It's being a part of something much bigger than yourself. I want to bring some rock to this roller coaster."

Lopez, who dressed in a silver pant suit, was the last to be introduced.

"I love you guys. I am so excited," she told the crowd that included Idol hopefuls, there to try out for the show. "It is about concentrating in the moment, do the best you can. Just live! Just live, it's your moment."

The announcement comes with little surprise. In weeks leading up to the decision, sources told PEOPLE Lopez signed the deal worth $12 million. And Tyler himself said he would "probably" be a judge when the show returned in the winter.

Celine & Charice sings duet at Madison Square

Charice Pempengco once again proved that dreams do come true after she performed a duet with one of her favorite international stars — Celine Dion, September 15, Monday at Madison Square Garden in New York City, USA.

In the concert dubbed as “Taking Chances World Tour, “Charice sang the hit “Because You Loved Me” with her idol Celine. The song was actually chosen for and dedicated to Charice’s strength and love — her mom Raquel Pempengco.

The Canadian international star, Celine Dion first told the life story of Charice.

"They actually told me about an incredible young singer that she [Oprah Winfrey] discovered awhile back. You know, if you watch Oprah last week, you know all about her. This young girl’s name is Charice. I’m so excited. She’s 16 years old and she’s from the Philippines. Let me tell you she has a voice that can literally blow the roof off Madison Square. But the real story is, Charice and her mom escaped a terrifying experience and had to leave Charice’s violent father. You know, to start a life on their own, Charice vowed to save her mom from life’s desperation. Through prayers and dreams and God-given talent, an incredible voice, Charice entered and won every singing contest in her native country and eventually got noticed. By such a fortunate chance people saw the show on Oprah and Oprah wanted to take her under her wing and David Foster joined them. "

“I had a chance to see Charice perform one of my songs in Oprah last week. I have a little difficulty to talk right now because I met Charice and I’m so emotional and so I’m searching and looking for my words trying to control my emotion. I invited here to come her tonight to sing with me…,” said Celine Dion.

After Celine’s lovely introduction to Charice she invited her to come up on stage and join her. Celine then told Charice how spectacular she is and how she looked really beautiful. Celine asked the young diva how she feels to be with her on the same stage. Charice admitted that she’s nervous but Celine calmed her and said that she does not have to be.

“First of all you look spectacular you’re beautiful, you’re shaking, how do you feel? Don’t be nervous I think people will understand that you’re nervous. But let me tell you one thing, the talent we’re not going to talk about because you have that, we’re not going to talk about strength because you have that (Celine pointing to Charice’s mom Raquel Pempengco) and so the love. And I have to tell you that the family we have to talk about because you have that too. One time my manager, my husband told me ‘Celine’, because when I started to sing I was 12 years old so 12 and 16, it’s the same, okay?

“He told me ‘Celine I know you’re nervous, don’t be scared. You love to sing. When you go up there you’ll be nervous don’t be.’ I will give you an image that you can think about, think about that. All the people you see in front of you are your brothers and sisters. You are singing in your living room and it’s your family,” Celine told Charice. Charice in return said that she was ready to sing and agreed to dedicate their song “Because You Loved Me” to her mother Raquel.

The crowd, in a standing ovation, roared and praised Celine and Charice after their performance. “You did amazing, and the roof of the Madison (blew) up tonight,” said Celine. Celine also said that she loved Charice and that she could not wait to perform with Charice for a full concert.

“When you do perform in Madison Square are you going to invite me? I love you and I can not wait to be with you to perform here for a whole concert,” Celine said before she let Charice leave the concert stage. Charice can only say, "Thank you!" Then all the people at Madison Square Garden rose up and gave her a round of applause.

Charice Pempengco @ OPRAH SHOW

Last September 9, 2008, Our very own, the Philippines newest rising international star was featured at The Oprah Winfrey Show, no other than Charice Pempongco. The 16-year old talented Filipina sung the very first song she learned "My hear will go on" by Celine Dion. A very inspiring and touching episode.

Oprah says there's nothing more fun than helping to make someone's dreams come true…especially when that someone is a gifted young person who really wants it and really deserves it.

Charice Pempengco's dream of becoming a singer began halfway around the world in the Philippines. She found a following on the Internet after a stranger posted her jaw-dropping performances on YouTube.

Oprah's producers were among the 13 million people who logged on to watch this 16-year-old sensation sing songs made famous by artists like Celine Dion and Beyoncé. Then, in May 2008, Charice flew 15 hours to showcase her talent on The Oprah Show. She stole the show with a soul-stirring rendition of Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing."

Millions of viewers were moved by Charice's powerful voice—including Gayle King. "That evening Gayle called me," Oprah says. "She said she fell off her treadmill when she heard that girl." Oprah says the performance blew her Manolos off!

Charice's voice wasn't the only thing that impressed Oprah. "One of the things I love most about Charice is that no matter what obstacles she's faced in her life, she's never given up on her dream of something better," Oprah says.

I am proud to be Pinoy! Proud for Charice!
